  • Andy Love has written many worldwide hits for artists ranging from NKOTB, New Politics, Paloma Faith and many other artists around the world.

    He has also composed the TV Theme songs and background music for some of the world’s biggest TV shows such America’s Got Talent, The X-factor, Disney’s KC Undercover, Raven’s Home as well as numerous TV adverts for brands such as Sony, Samsung, Palmolive, Kelloggs and many others. He also composed the main Huawei brand theme song called “Dream it Possible”

    He has now received 14 BMI crystal awards for his musical compositions around the world.

    Based in Los Angeles, he has dedicated the last two years almost solely to the Asian market frequently visiting Tokyo for writing and business and this dedication has manifested with a constant stream of releases in 2018 and 2019 for artists such as :

  • MREY is a multi-instrumentalist, music producer, songwriter and mixing engineer based out of Orlando, Florida. In 2011 MREY graduated with a dual major in Music Production & Engineering and Electronic Production & Sound Design from the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts.

  • Barry Cohen, professionally known as Gingerbread, is the new wave. A Miami native, he grew up listening to many different types of global music styles such as afrobeat and bossa nova, which has influenced his approach to production.

    In 2018, the Florida-born, 21-year old producer, writer, musician and engineer graduated from Berklee College of Music with a degree in Music Production and Engineering.

    After graduation he moved to Los Angeles, and is already making an impact.

    2019 brought his first placement with BMG and Spinnin’ Records with Sean Kingston and the Afro Bros.’ for their vibey island collaboration titled “How Many Times.” He followed this with an official remix to Atlantic Records’ Kiiara’s catchy summer smash “Open My Mouth.” He’s since been in the studio working with artists, writers, and producers such as Quinn XCII, 24Hrs, Stephen Puth, Plvtinum, Cook Classics, and James Royo.

    In November 2019 he signed a production deal with multi-platinum producer Cook Classics (Ava Max “Sweet but Psycho” and Panic at the Disco “High Hopes”).

    Since signing, Gingerbread has placed multiple records such as “Watching You Walk Away” by Stephen Puth, “Come Together” by Now United, “Speak Up” by Miquela, “Stranger in the Mirror” by 24Hrs, and a few single releases on Monstercat.

  • Ciara Muscat was a writer on ITZY’s single ’Cheshire’, which has sold over 1 million physical copies and had 112 million views on Youtube. She also wrote on Red Velvet’s latest album release ‘The ReVe Festival 2022 – Birthday’ for the song ‘On a Ride’; this also sold over 1 million physicals worldwide and topped the charts in Korea and Japan.

    To begin 2023, Ciara co-wrote ‘Blame It On Me’ for TWICE’s new mini album ‘READY TO BE’, which sold 1.4 million physical copies in the first week of release, hitting #1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales Chart.

    Ciara has a passion for working on Australian pop music, especially with young artists, encouraging space to find and explore their voice and sound. Some noteworthy, local releases over the last couple of years include RARIA’s ‘Kill You Boy’ (640,000 streams on Spotify) and Carda’s ‘Need You Now’ (over 2 million streams on Spotify).

 Frequently Asked Questions

General

  • Each member in UMC will have a mentor assigned to them and will be based on the member’s expertise (ie. producer, topliner, both). This is a mentorship group where everyone will meet on a monthly basis to discuss the tracks they are working on, and the mentor will provide guidance and feedback.

  • Each month, Umsic Music’s A&R will be giving out a lead for a track, while UMC members can work on this lead. Chosen tracks in the song challenge will be collaborated on by Papi and the UMP team with the goal of pitching the track to the label.

  • Well-established producers and songwriters in the K-pop industry are invited by Umsic Music to share their knowledge and insight in UMC. The masterclasses would include project breakdowns and Q&A sessions.

  • One of the producers within Umsic Music Production (UMP) will be holding a livestream session where they talk about one of the projects they are working on. UMC members are welcome to join the session as well.

  • Yes.

  • UMC is open to all members of different skill levels. Although we do suggest that some basic knowledge in DAW is encouraged in order to fully utilize the programs and channels established within UMC.

  • The UMC Masterclasses and Gold livestreams will be recorded.

Pricing and Payment

  • UMC has two subscription tiers- Silver ($40 per month) and Gold ($120 per month) memberships.

Mentorships

  • Silver UMC members will be mentored by one of the producers and topliners in UMP, while Gold UMC members will be mentored by either Papi Lee or Gingerbreadproducer.

  • Other members in your group will include UMC members who are under your chosen expertise (producer, topliner, or both).

Collaboration and Pitching

  • Yes. These are usually done through monthly song challenges from A&R.

  • Umsic Music is widely connected with many labels, publishing companies and A&R’s across K-pop industry. Depending on the project, Umsic Music team will determine which songs should be sent where.

  • Umsic Music Production (UMP) is an in-house production team led by Papi Lee. UMP producers are highly skilled music creatives who create top quality music for K-pop.

  • There are three ways to join UMP:

    • Through semi annual bootcamp courses that offer tryouts

    • If you are a gold member in UMC, we hold exclusive tryouts

    • Personal invitation by the Umsic team (through monitoring progress made by members in song challenges)
